This week we are going to discuss going Free vs Premium on Evernote.
I am not going to explain to all the differences between two options as it is very well explained on Evernote website (https://www.evernote.com/about/premium/).
Suffice to say that for me the main points for me to go Premium are:
- 1Gb download/month instead of 60Mb
- offline notebooks on my iPhone
- show my support for Evernote so they can provide the service for 100 year!
What I want to explain in this episode is that not too many people realize that it is possible to go Premium for one month or two to upload plenty of information to Evernote and then go back to Free. They even encourage people to do so in one of the past Evernote podcast.
So you can buy one month Premium for 5US$ to upload notes and documents to your Evernote account up to 1Gb which is A LOT if you upload manily text notes. You can even boost the monthly quota to 5Gb and by additional Gb of quota at 5US$ each.
After that you can go back to Free and whatever you have uploaded to Evernote remains accessible.

You are free to use the free version of Evernote for ever. There’s no limit in time.
In fact more than 90% of the 20 million plus users are free users.

Hello,
I downloaded Evernote yesterday and find it to be extremely useful. What i wanted to know was, if i uninstall it from my desktop at office then will i be able to access all my notes on my home pc?
What if someone re-installs Evernote on my office desktop, will he/ she be able to access my notes, or will he/ she be prompted to create his/ her own account? Because right now as soon as i start my pc, synchronization starts and i am not required to login. Worried about privacy issues, you see.

Hello Hoorie,
Whatever you have synced to Evernote will be accessible wherever and however you logon to your Evernote account (through the web app, through mobile or through another installation of the desktop app on another PC).
If you logoff and uninstall completely the desktop app, nobody will be able to access your data on Evernote. To be on the safe side, you can probably delete manually the Evernote files on your work PC but I not sure it is necessary.

Am I right in thinking for a Free account therefore that the 60MB is a montly limit upload to Evernote and that the size of your notes in the cloud are unlimited?
When you sync is that classed as an upload and download or is it irrelevant to your limits?

First point: yes, the only limit is on how big you upload per month (60 Mb if Free, 1Gb if Premium). There is NO limit on the total volume of all your notes uploaded to the Evernote servers.
Second point: it’s irrelevant to the limit per month. What counts is each new content you put into your account from all the different options (web clipping, mail gateway, third parties, etc.).
